TYPE SPECIMEN BOOK / 2020

Creating an engaging, appealing design layout using only letters, numbers or other elements found on a keyboard was a fun goal. I picked a typeface (Gill Sans) and color scheme that I felt worked together to convey the feeling of my topic - burlesque dancing. Placing text in atypically-shaped spaces was a huge challenge, but it was a great way to learn about tracking and kerning (as well as how to eliminate information that just isn’t absolutely necessary). Ultimately, this project really opened my eyes to just how much goes into creating a clean, cohesive design project confined to strict parameters.
